Our core beliefs and values are that a divorce doesn’t have to destroy a family financially or emotionally and we try to work with our clients to achieve the best outcome possible without the destruction of the family.

DFW Divorce Finances has extensive experience in the Family Law arena and is owned and operated by Cathy A. Threadgill, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst ™ and a paralegal specializing in the area of Family Law.

Ms. Threadgill is dedicated to her clients’ needs and at DFW Divorce Finances we are aware that at times a client will want to make a decision based on emotions and not logic.  Ms. Threadgill’s education and experience enables her to delicately demonstrate to her client; what seems like a good decision today may not be in 3, 5, or 10 years.

There are three important words for a client during the divorce process. Those words are Caring, Compassion, and Competency and we demonstrate all three.

Our objective is to work with our clients in gathering the necessary documents to formulate their settlement options; assist our client’s in understanding their settlement options and model the outcome of those options.  Ms. Threadgill is not associated with, nor does she represent any financial product/product providers.

As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ Ms. Threadgill has demonstrated through her experience and education that she is qualified to assist clients in coordinating a plan of action that will help them attain an equitable settlement, by producing comprehensive and realistic analysis of her client’s pre- and post- divorce financial situation.  Ms. Threadgill uses divorce settlement software, QuickBooks, Excel and Photoshop to provide clients and their attorneys with customized reports and charts needed to demonstrate financially equitable settlements.

Ms. Threadgill also traces separate and community assets to evaluate the marital economic history and determine the net worth of the community estate.  Ms. Threadgill will also work with her clients to establish pre- and post- divorce budgets.  Ms. Threadgill will analyze and provide expertise on the financial issues of divorce including the effects of dividing property, tax laws affecting the divorce, determining cost basis and capital gains on the sale of property, analyzing pension and retirement plans, calculate the present value of a pension and work with the client in determining their earnings capabilities and evaluating insurance needs post-divorce.

Ms. Threadgill also has the following experience:

15 Plus Years Family Law Paralegal – Having 15 years experience in the field of family law, Ms Threadgill, is familiar with the laws and procedures regarding divorces.  Her experience includes: requesting, reviewing, organizing and presenting financial and other documents, preparing financial worksheets, recaps and tracing reports; preparing for and attend mediations; preparation of Inventory and Appraisements.

Ms Threadgill has experience working with financial experts in gathering and organizing documents, tracing funds and other assets along with preparing reports to support the findings.  She also have experience dealing with client’s emotions and expectations during the divorce process.

25 Plus Years Accounting and Bookkeeping – Ms Threadgill’s client base has ranged from sole proprietors to corporations with 100 plus employees.  She has experience in handling simple bookkeeping entries to complex accounting matters and the preparation of Federal and State Income Tax Returns including individual, partnership and corporate returns.

20 Plus Years Tax Preparation – Ms. Threadgill is familiar with income tax preparation, ranging from individual to corporate federal and state income tax returns, tax procedures and laws.  Ms. Threadgill also has experience working with CAPs and Tax Attorneys through the audit process.

Inventory Photography – Ms. Threadgill skills, as a professional photographer, come in handy when your client needs a photographic inventory for use in court or for their personal files.

Guest Speaker for Artist Masterminds the topic being “Bookkeeping for Artists” which covered tracking expenses and income, setting up a budget and preparing a profit and loss statement.

1995 – “Are You Ready???”

First Baptist Church of Las Cruces, Las Cruces, NM

Designed and presented a program for the junior and high schools students at First Baptist Church of Las Cruces, NM.  The program included writing a check and balancing a check book, setting up a budget, determining if the student can afford to move out of their parent’s home, preparing a resume and completing an employment application, holding mock interviews, dressing for success and first impressions.
